Stack both channels in BOOST mode with Master volume engaged for a loud, transparent drive.
By adamguitar23
The Combo — both channels in Boost mode, the most open and transparent configuration Brothers AM can produce. No hard clipping, no soft clipping, just two stages of clean gain multiplication feeding your amp with a loud, clear, full-bandwidth signal. The amp's own preamp and power section become the distortion source — Brothers AM simply gives it more to work with. The result is loud, present, and utterly transparent: your instrument's voice magnified rather than colored. Both channels at low-moderate gain stay comfortably below the clipping threshold of Boost mode — Channel 1 at 45 and Channel 2 at 40 means neither stage is adding any saturation character of its own, just clean level. Channel 1 feeds its boosted signal into Channel 2, which boosts it again before hitting your amp. TONE on both channels at dead-center 64 preserves your natural frequency balance completely. Treble booster off for the purest possible signal path. MASTER dip is essential here — VOL 2 controls the final output at all times regardless of which channels are engaged, so you can explore every combination without volume spikes. VOL 2 at 95 keeps the double-boost output controlled and useable — raise or lower to taste depending on your amp's input sensitivity. Performance tips: • This configuration is entirely about your amp — a clean amp stays clean but feels bigger and more alive, a slightly overdriven amp gets pushed further into natural breakup • Start with just one channel on to set your baseline boost level, then add the second for the full double-stack • The real power move: set Channel 1 to a moderate boost and Channel 2 to a lighter boost, then use them independently as two different boost levels, or combine for maximum push • Raise GAIN on either channel toward 70-80 to start introducing the lowest, most subtle hint of Boost mode's soft character — edge-of-breakup territory • Nudge TONE above 64 on either channel to add a slight brightness to the boost — useful for darker amps or humbuckers that need presence • Because MASTER is on, tap either footswitch independently to instantly compare single boost vs double boost at perfectly matched levels — a genuinely useful live tool • For the 'Amp Pusher' variant from the manual, set both channels to similar gain but different volumes — one subtle push, one dramatic shove
