Red Panda Bitmap 2 — MIDI Editor & CC Reference

MIDI control for the Red Panda Bitmap 2 bitcrusher — bit depth, sample rate reduction, wavefolding, drive, filter, LFO and envelope modulation, 127 presets.

Nitelite gives the Bitmap 2 a full browser-based control surface: turn every knob, flip every switch, describe the tone you want to the AI Tone Terminal, and save the results — all sent to the pedal live over MIDI (default channel 1). Works free in Chrome, Edge, Opera, or Brave — no install required.

Knobs

ControlMIDI CCDescription
MIXCC 12Adjusts the wet/dry mix, from 100% dry to 100% wet.
CRUSHCC 13Adjusts the bit depth from 24 bits down to 1 bit, including fractional bit depths.
FREQCC 14Adjusts the sampling rate, from 48,000 Hz down to 110 Hz. The sampling rate can be modulated by the LFO or envelope follower.
FILTERCC 21Adjusts the cutoff frequency of the 4-pole lowpass filter. The cutoff can be modulated by the LFO or envelope follower.
RATECC 16LFO modulation rate. The LFO can be synced to tap tempo or MIDI clock, and the rate can be set to audio frequencies.
DEPTHCC 15LFO modulation depth and waveshaping intensity. Fully counter-clockwise turns off modulation. Depending on the WAVE setting it sets the LFO modulation amount, the wavefolding threshold and number of folds, the wave window position and width, or the waveshaping function.
DRIVECC 23Adjusts the input gain from 0 dB to +60 dB, with saturation and clipping, before the waveshaping and bit reduction. Lowering drive makes the signal sputter and cut out; increasing it gives hard sustain and a more saturated sound.
ENVCC 20Envelope modulation amount. Fully counter-clockwise turns off envelope modulation. The envelope follower tracks the input signal before the drive control, so you can get saturated output with dynamics.

Alt / Secondary Knob Functions

ControlMIDI CCDescription
OUTPUT LEVELCC 24MIX alt ([WAVE]-MIX) — output gain on the wet signal, -30 dB to +6 dB. 0 enables automatic gain control (default), 18 = -30 dB, 36 = -24 dB, 54 = -18 dB, 72 = -12 dB, 90 = -6 dB, 108 = 0 dB, 126 = +6 dB.
RESONANCECC 22FILTER alt ([WAVE]-FILTER) — filter resonance. Increasing resonance creates a peak at the filter cutoff frequency and reduces the amplitude at low frequencies. At high resonance the filter will self-oscillate with no input.

Switches

Footswitches

  • AUXbypass on CC 80
  • ONbypass on CC 88

Special MIDI Functions

  • Tap Tempo — CC 89
  • Expression — CC 4
  • LFO Hold — CC 105. Freezes the LFO at its current value (on) or lets it run (off). The left LED is red while the LFO is held.
  • Receive MIDI Clock — CC 110. Global setting — when on, the pedal synchronises the LFO to incoming MIDI timing clock (24 PPQ). Remembered when power is turned off. On is the default.
  • Modulation Note Division — CC 108. Note division for tap tempo and MIDI clock sync, stored in presets. 0 = off (tap tempo disabled), 1 = 8 measures, 2 = 7 measures, 3 = 6, 4 = 5, 5 = 4, 6 = 3, 7 = 2 measures, 8 = 2 measure triplet, 9 = dotted whole, 10 = whole, 11 = whole triplet, 12 = dotted half, 13 = half, 14 = half triplet, 15 = dotted quarter, 16 = quarter, 17 = quarter triplet, 18 = dotted eighth, 19 = eighth, 20 = eighth triplet, 21 = dotted 16th, 22 = 16th, 23 = 16th triplet, 24 = dotted 32nd, 25 = 32nd, 26 = 32nd triplet.
  • ON Footswitch (press) — CC 81. Emulates a press of the ON footswitch (CC 81, 64-127 = press). A short press toggles between on and bypass; on the hardware, holding it while bypassed momentarily engages the effect. The manual recommends gated mode — 127 on press, 0 on release.
  • AUX Footswitch (press) — CC 80. Emulates a press of the AUX footswitch (CC 80, 64-127 = press). Its function is a global setting: Tap (default), Preset, Preset Shift, Modulation On/Off, LFO Hold, or LFO Hold On/Off. The manual recommends gated mode — 127 on press, 0 on release.

Hardware Presets

The Bitmap 2 has 127 hardware preset slots. Nitelite can save your current settings to a slot and recall slots via MIDI program change.
