Jackson Audio New Wave — MIDI Editor & CC Reference
Control the Jackson Audio New Wave stereo analog chorus/vibrato over MIDI — seven curated modes, five LFO shapes, depth, speed, phase/ratio and BBD delay.

CC -1
Takes the effect from fully dry (CCW) to fully wet vibrato (CW). It also features a detent in the center of the range for a 50/50 blend of dry and vibrato otherwise known as CHORUS. NOT MIDI-CONTROLLABLE — the manual lists no CC for MIX, and the MIX value is not saved when saving a preset. Set it by hand on the pedal.
DEPTH
CC 3
Increases/decreases the intensity of the LFO that is applied to the bucket brigade delay chips. SHLW (CCW) to DEEP (CW). The DEPTH control value is saved when saving a preset. On the hardware this knob also presses to advance the mode/preset, and its LED ring shows the active mode (70 / 80 / RCK / VIB / ROT / HRM / UC).
SPEED
CC 4
Controls the speed of the LFO from 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz. The SPEED control value is saved when saving a preset. CC 4 is a relative 0-127 sweep across that range; use the separate SPEED (Hz) hidden setting on CC 8 when you want to dial an absolute rate.
TONE
CC -1
Used to shape the EQ of the wet signal only. CCW (DRK) will boost lows and cut highs, whereas CW (BRT) will boost highs and cut lows. NOT MIDI-CONTROLLABLE — the manual lists no CC for TONE, and the TONE value is not saved when saving a preset. Set it by hand on the pedal.
DELAY
CC 7
Controls the center clock frequency that is being sent to the BBD chips. Fast (CCW) delay settings give a super tight, almost compressed sound and Slow (CW) delay settings give a looser, more sea-sick sound. Extreme settings at either end of the DELAY control in the UC preset may introduce noise and artifacts as the BBD chips are pushed to the limit.

Adjusts the phase of LFO2 relative to LFO1. When set fully CCW (LOCK) the phases of the two LFO's are locked together. As the PHASE control is advanced, LFO2 starts to fall behind LFO1 until at the fully CW position (WIDE) the two LFO's are 180 degrees out of phase. In 80's mode this widens the classic stereo chorus from a locked, mono-ish sweep to a fully counter-moving stereo image.

Adjusts the phase of LFO2 relative to LFO1. Fully CCW (LOCK) locks the two LFO's together; advancing it makes LFO2 fall behind LFO1 until fully CW (WIDE) they are 180 degrees out of phase. In Rack mode, which features both a pitch increase and a pitch decrease, higher PHASE values push the rise and fall further apart across the stereo field.

Adjusts a multiplier that increases the speed of LFO2 relative to LFO1. In Rotary mode the RATIO control speeds up LFO2 (horn) up to 3 times faster than LFO1 (drum), with LFO2 being half the intensity of LFO1. Fully CCW keeps horn and drum locked together; advancing it separates them like a real rotating speaker cabinet.

Adjusts a multiplier that increases the speed of LFO2 relative to LFO1. In Harmonic mode the RATIO controls the speed of LFO2 using a multiplier up to 2x applied to LFO1, and the intensity of LFO2 is the same as LFO1 — this is what gives Harmonic mode its rhythmic chorus character.

Special MIDI Functions
Tap Tempo — CC 10
SPEED (Hz) — CC 8. Sets the LFO speed as an absolute rate instead of a relative sweep. Value 0 = 0.2 Hz, value 100 = 10 Hz. Useful when you want a specific rate rather than a knob position — the SPEED knob (CC 4) covers the same range as a 0-127 sweep.
RAMP UP / DOWN — CC 9. Sends the RAMP command (CC 9, value 127). With the RAMP function enabled (press and hold the TAP foot switch until the LED changes from flashing white to flashing pink), this ramps the LFO between the saved slow and fast speed settings instead of tapping a tempo. Unless a specific slow speed is set, RAMP initially ramps down to half the current LFO speed; sending it again ramps back up to the faster setting.
