Meris Ottobit Jr — MIDI Editor & CC Reference
Control the Meris Ottobit Jr from your browser — MIDI control reference, interactive editor, and AI-generated presets. Free, no install.
Explore the Ottobit Jr controls in your browser and connect compatible MIDI hardware to send settings to your pedal. The reference below shows the controls mapped in Nitelite; available functions depend on the pedal and firmware. The default MIDI channel in Nitelite is 1. Browser MIDI control works in Chrome, Edge, Opera, or Brave — no install required.
Knobs
| Control | MIDI CC | Description |
|---|---|---|
| SAMPLE RATE | CC 16 | Changes the sample rate of the input signal from 48 Hz to 48 kHz. Lower sample rate settings create low-resolution audio with overtones similar to ring modulation. |
| FILTER | CC 17 | Cutoff frequency of the Meris original ladder-style low pass filter, from 96Hz up to 24kHz. At max the filter is bypassed. |
| BITS | CC 18 | Changes the bit depth from 1 bit to 24 bits, crushing the input signal and decreasing dynamic range. |
| STUTTER | CC 19 | Sets the stutter play speed and length. The knob steps through 23 positions organized into Full Speed, Double Speed, and Half Speed ranges — each with 7 length selections from Stutter Once to Stutter Sixteen Times. Minimum position = Off. Maximum position = Random (combination of all above plus reverse). |
| SEQUENCER | CC 20 | Sequencer play mode. CC ranges: 0-3 = Off; 4-32 = Play Once (1X); 33-59 = Play Twice (2X); 60-87 = Play 4 Times (4X); 88-115 = Play 8 Times (8X); 116-127 = Play Continuously (infinite). |
| SEQUENCER MULT | CC 21 | Sets the sequencer speed as a multiple of the tap tempo. CC ranges: 0 = 1X; 1-19 = 2X; 20-39 = 4X; 40-59 = 8X; 60-79 = 16X; 80-99 = 32X; 100-119 = 64X; 120-127 = 128X. Higher multiples can push the Sequencer into the audio band for ring-mod-style effects. |
Alt / Secondary Knob Functions
| Control | MIDI CC | Description |
|---|---|---|
| STEP 1 | CC 22 | First step of the sequencer. Meaning depends on Sequencer Type (Pitch: semitone offset; Filter or Sample Rate: 0-100% modifier). CC 0 = skip, CC 127 = mute. |
| STEP 2 | CC 23 | Second step of the sequencer. Meaning depends on Sequencer Type (Pitch: semitone offset; Filter or Sample Rate: 0-100% modifier). CC 0 = skip, CC 127 = mute. |
| STEP 3 | CC 24 | Third step of the sequencer. Meaning depends on Sequencer Type (Pitch: semitone offset; Filter or Sample Rate: 0-100% modifier). CC 0 = skip, CC 127 = mute. |
| STEP 4 | CC 25 | Fourth step of the sequencer. Meaning depends on Sequencer Type (Pitch: semitone offset; Filter or Sample Rate: 0-100% modifier). CC 0 = skip, CC 127 = mute. |
| STEP 5 | CC 26 | Fifth step of the sequencer. Meaning depends on Sequencer Type (Pitch: semitone offset; Filter or Sample Rate: 0-100% modifier). CC 0 = skip, CC 127 = mute. |
| STEP 6 | CC 27 | Sixth step of the sequencer. Meaning depends on Sequencer Type (Pitch: semitone offset; Filter or Sample Rate: 0-100% modifier). CC 0 = skip, CC 127 = mute. |
Switches

Footswitches
- BYPASS — CC 14
- TAP — CC 28
Special MIDI Functions
- Tap Tempo — CC 28
- Expression — CC 4
- Bypass — CC 14. When on, the effect is bypassed (dry signal only). When off, the effect is engaged. Per Meris spec: 0–63 = FX bypass, 64–127 = FX enabled.
- Stutter Hold — CC 31. Freezes the audio that is being stuttered. 0-63 = Hold Off; 64-127 = Hold On. When held before a stutter has trapped audio, the next played note/chord will be stuttered until released.
- Tempo (7-bit) — CC 15. Sets the main timing directly as a 7-bit value (0-127). The tempo drives the Sequencer and Stutter and has a very wide range from 23.4 BPM to 6000 BPM (up to 768000 BPM effective when combined with Sequencer Mult).
Hardware Presets
Ottobit Jr has 16 hardware preset slots, recalled using MIDI Program Change. Saving requires an action on the pedal; follow the hardware preset manager instructions.
