Strymon Riverside — MIDI Editor & CC Reference
Control the Strymon Riverside from your browser — MIDI control reference, interactive editor, and AI-generated presets. Free, no install.
Explore the Riverside controls in your browser and connect compatible MIDI hardware to send settings to your pedal. The reference below shows the controls mapped in Nitelite; available functions depend on the pedal and firmware. The default MIDI channel in Nitelite is 1. Browser MIDI control works in Chrome, Edge, Opera, or Brave — no install required.

Special MIDI Functions
- Expression — CC 100
- Boost On/Off — CC 18. Toggles the analog boost circuit on or off. Requires an external footswitch connected to the BOOST jack (in Boost Switch Mode) or can be controlled directly via MIDI.
- MIDI Expression On/Off — CC 60. Enables or disables Riverside's response to incoming MIDI Expression messages (CC #100). Turn off when sharing a MIDI channel with other pedals to prevent unintended expression control.
- Volume Pedal — CC 7. Controls the output volume level via MIDI expression. Use when EXP jack is configured for Volume Mode and you want MIDI control instead of a physical pedal.
- Boost Level — CC 17. Sets the amount of post-gain analog boost, from 0 dB (fully counter-clockwise) up to +6 dB (fully clockwise). Saved globally across Manual, Favorite, and Bypass settings.
- Noise Gate Threshold — CC 22. Sets the noise reduction threshold. 0 = off (no noise reduction). Increasing the value raises the threshold, taming hum and buzz during quiet passages. Saved per-preset.
Hardware Presets
Riverside has 300 hardware preset slots, recalled using MIDI Program Change. Saving requires an action on the pedal; follow the hardware preset manager instructions.
