Special MIDI Functions

  • Expression — CC 100
  • Bypass/On (A and B) — CC 33. Simultaneously bypasses or engages both channels A and B.
  • MIDI Expression On/Off — CC 60. Enables or disables Sunset's response to incoming MIDI Expression messages (CC 100). Useful when multiple pedals share a MIDI channel and you want to control which ones respond to expression.
  • Volume Pedal — CC 7. Controls the overall output volume of Sunset, equivalent to using a volume expression pedal.
  • Noise Gate — CC 22. Sets the noise gate threshold. 0 = off (no gate). Higher values engage the gate at increasing threshold levels to reduce hum and buzz when not playing.
  • MIDI Patch Bank — CC 0. Selects which bank of 128 presets is active. Bank 0 = presets 0–127, Bank 1 = presets 128–255, Bank 2 = presets 256–299. Send before a Program Change to access the desired preset.

Hardware Presets

Sunset has 300 hardware preset slots, recalled using MIDI Program Change. Saving requires an action on the pedal; follow the hardware preset manager instructions.
