Strymon TimeLine — MIDI Editor & CC Reference

Control the Strymon TimeLine from your browser — MIDI control reference, interactive editor, and AI-generated presets. Free, no install.

Explore the TimeLine controls in your browser and connect compatible MIDI hardware to send settings to your pedal. The reference below shows the controls mapped in Nitelite; available functions depend on the pedal and firmware. The default MIDI channel in Nitelite is 1. Special MIDI Functions

  • Expression — CC 100
  • Persist (Trails) — CC 22. Turns on delay persist "trails" — delay repeats spill over when the effect is bypassed. When ON, bypass mode is automatically set to analog bypass.
  • Infinite Repeats — CC 97. Engages infinite repeats — delay repeats sustain indefinitely. Equivalent to holding the B footswitch.
  • Expression Pedal Enable — CC 60. Enables or disables the expression pedal input for the current preset.
  • MIDI Clock — CC 63. When ON, TimeLine responds to external MIDI clock from the MIDI input. Only presets with this set to ON will respond to MIDI clock. Saved independently per preset.
  • Tap Division — CC 21. Selects the subdivision for delay repeats when tapping a tempo. 0=Quarter notes (default), 1=Dotted Eighth, 2=Eighth, 3=Triplets, 4=Sixteenth notes.
  • Boost — CC 23. +/- 3dB of boost/cut. Useful for level matching in your effects chain or boosting a solo with delay. 0 = maximum cut, 30 = unity, 60 = maximum boost.
  • MIDI Patch Bank — CC 0. Selects the MIDI patch bank. 0 = presets 00A–63B (programs 0–127), 1 = presets 64A–99B (programs 0–71). Send before a Program Change to access the second bank.
  • Looper Level — CC 98. Sets the volume level of the looper playback output.
  • Remote Tap — CC 93. Sends a remote tap tempo pulse. Equivalent to pressing the TAP footswitch. Send any value to trigger.
  • Phase Reset — CC 125. Resets the delay phase. Send any value to trigger.
  • Looper: Record — CC 87. Starts looper recording. Send any value to trigger. Equivalent to pressing the A footswitch while looper is active.
  • Looper: Play — CC 86. Starts looper playback. Send any value to trigger. Equivalent to pressing the B footswitch while looper is active.
  • Looper: Stop — CC 85. Stops looper playback. Send any value to trigger. Equivalent to pressing the TAP footswitch while looper is active.
  • Looper: Reverse (Toggle) — CC 94. Toggles the looper into or out of reverse playback mode. Send any value to trigger.
  • Looper: Full/Half Speed (Toggle) — CC 95. Toggles the looper between full speed and half speed playback. Send any value to trigger.
  • Looper: Pre/Post (Toggle) — CC 96. Toggles the looper between pre-delay and post-delay position. Send any value to trigger.
  • Looper: Undo — CC 89. Undoes the last looper overdub, returning to the initial recorded loop. Send any value to trigger.
  • Looper: Redo — CC 90. Redoes the last undone looper overdub. Send any value to trigger.

Hardware Presets

TimeLine has 200 hardware preset slots, recalled using MIDI Program Change. Saving requires an action on the pedal; follow the hardware preset manager instructions.
