REPEATSCC 20Feedback amount for heads with feedback enabled. Higher values create longer, self-oscillating repeats.

LOW CUTCC 16Low frequency shaping of echo repeats. Min = extended low frequency bandwidth. Max = extremely high-passed repeats.
WEARCC 15Wear of the media and heads, affecting high frequency fidelity. Min = fresh, full-bandwidth sound. Higher = degraded, lo-fi character.
SPACINGCC 18Distance between playback heads. Even(0)=even subdivisions, Triplet(34)=triplet subdivisions, Golden(94)=golden ratio, Silver(127)=silver ratio.
SPRINGCC 39Output mix of the integrated spring reverb tank. All the way left = spring bypassed. Dry signal and Echo Level both feed into the reverb.

  • Head 1 Playback — CC 21. Enable or disable playback head 1. When off, head 1 is silent but can still feed back to the record head.
  • Head 2 Playback — CC 22. Enable or disable playback head 2. When off, head 2 is silent but can still feed back to the record head.
  • Head 3 Playback — CC 23. Enable or disable playback head 3. When off, head 3 is silent but can still feed back to the record head.
  • Head 4 Playback — CC 24. Enable or disable playback head 4. When off, head 4 is silent but can still feed back to the record head.
  • Head 1 Feedback — CC 34. Enable or disable feedback from head 1 back to the record head. A head can feed back even when its playback is disengaged.
  • Head 2 Feedback — CC 35. Enable or disable feedback from head 2 back to the record head. A head can feed back even when its playback is disengaged.
  • Head 3 Feedback — CC 36. Enable or disable feedback from head 3 back to the record head. A head can feed back even when its playback is disengaged.
  • Head 4 Feedback — CC 37. Enable or disable feedback from head 4 back to the record head. A head can feed back even when its playback is disengaged.
  • SOS Mode — CC 41. Toggle Sound on Sound looper mode. When enabled, the footswitches take on looper functions (record, splice, pause, etc.). 0 = normal mode, 1-127 = SOS mode.
  • Pause (No Ramp) — CC 42. Pause or resume the SOS loop immediately, without the mechanical slowdown/startup effect. 0 = unpause, 1-127 = pause.
  • Pause (With Ramp) — CC 43. Pause or resume the SOS loop with a mechanical slowdown/startup effect simulating tape winding. 0 = unpause, 1-127 = pause.
  • Reverse — CC 44. Reverse or return to forward playback of the SOS recorded loop. 0 = normal forward playback, 1-127 = reverse playback.
  • Infinite Hold (with Oscillation) — CC 45. Enter or exit Infinite Hold mode, which disables the record head and plays the loop indefinitely without degrading. Oscillation/self-feedback remains active. 0 = release, 1-127 = hold.
  • Infinite Hold (no Oscillation) — CC 46. Enter or exit Infinite Hold mode without oscillation. Disables the record head and plays the loop indefinitely without degrading. 0 = release, 1-127 = hold.
  • MIDI Expression Enable — CC 60. Enable or disable response to MIDI Expression CC #100. When disabled, Volante ignores incoming expression CC messages. 0 = off (default), 1-127 = on.
  • MIDI Clock Sync — CC 63. Enable or disable MIDI Clock sync. When enabled, Volante syncs delay time to incoming MIDI Clock. 0 = off (default), 1-127 = on.
  • Echo On/Off — CC 78. Enable or disable the echo/delay engine independently of the spring reverb. Allows using Volante as a reverb-only unit. 0 = echo off, 127 = echo on.
  • Reverb On/Off — CC 79. Enable or disable the spring reverb independently of the echo engine. Allows using Volante as a delay-only unit. 0 = reverb off, 127 = reverb on.
  • Persist — CC 83. When enabled, the delay tails continue to ring out after bypass instead of cutting abruptly. 0 = persist off, 1-127 = persist on.
  • Kill Dry — CC 84. Mutes the dry (unprocessed) signal at the output, leaving only the wet echo and reverb signal. Useful in parallel FX loops. 0 = dry passes through, 1-127 = dry killed.
  • Output Sum (Mono) — CC 85. Sums the stereo output to mono on the LEFT OUT jack, with RIGHT OUT silent. Useful for mono rigs without disconnecting stereo cables. 0 = stereo out, 1-127 = mono sum.
  • Head 1 Level — CC 25. Volume level of playback head 1. Full volume (127) or half volume (~64) as set by the physical button.
  • Head 2 Level — CC 26. Volume level of playback head 2. Full volume (127) or half volume (~64) as set by the physical button.
  • Head 3 Level — CC 27. Volume level of playback head 3. Full volume (127) or half volume (~64) as set by the physical button.
  • Head 4 Level — CC 28. Volume level of playback head 4. Full volume (127) or half volume (~64) as set by the physical button.
  • Head 1 Pan — CC 29. Stereo panning of playback head 1. 0 = hard left, 64 = center, 127 = hard right.
  • Head 2 Pan — CC 30. Stereo panning of playback head 2. 0 = hard left, 64 = center, 127 = hard right.
  • Head 3 Pan — CC 31. Stereo panning of playback head 3. 0 = hard left, 64 = center, 127 = hard right.
  • Head 4 Pan — CC 32. Stereo panning of playback head 4. 0 = hard left, 64 = center, 127 = hard right.
  • Pause Ramp Speed — CC 38. Speed of the mechanical slowdown/startup effect when pausing and resuming the SOS looper. Lower = slower ramp, higher = faster ramp.
  • Spring Decay — CC 40. Decay time of the integrated spring reverb tank. Shorter values produce a snappier reverb; longer values produce a more pronounced, lingering spring reverb.
  • SOS Repeats Level — CC 47. Volume level of the SOS loop repeats fed back into the recording. Lower values reduce loop buildup; higher values maintain loop volume across overdubs.
  • SOS Loop Level — CC 48. Output volume of the SOS recorded loop. Turning down reduces the loop volume in the mix without affecting the dry signal or echo repeats.
  • SOS Record / Splice / Clear — CC 49. Triggers the SOS Record/Splice/Clear action (equivalent to pressing the TAP footswitch in SOS mode). First trigger starts recording, second closes the loop and begins playback, third clears the loop.
  • Exit SOS Looper — CC 50. Exits SOS Looper mode and returns to normal delay operation (equivalent to pressing and holding TAP in SOS mode).
  • Remote Tap Tempo — CC 93. Sends a tap tempo pulse to Volante, equivalent to pressing the TAP footswitch. Send repeatedly to set the delay time rhythmically.

Hardware Presets

The Volante has 300 hardware preset slots. Nitelite can save your current settings to a slot and recall slots via MIDI program change.
