Chase Bliss Clean — MIDI Editor & CC Reference

Control the Chase Bliss Clean from your browser — full MIDI CC reference for 9 parameters, interactive editor, and AI-generated presets. Free, no install.

Nitelite gives the Clean a full browser-based control surface: turn every knob, flip every switch, describe the tone you want to the AI Tone Terminal, and save the results — all sent to the pedal live over MIDI (default channel 2). Works free in Chrome, Edge, Opera, or Brave — no install required.

Knobs

ControlMIDI CCDescription
DYNAMICSCC 14Amount of compression. Transitions: compression → limiting → sag.
SENSITIVITYCC 15Dynamic threshold. Higher = more responsive. Controls ramp speed when ramping engaged.
WETCC 16Processed signal loudness with healthy boost capability
ATTACKCC 17Compression onset speed (0.5ms to 300ms). Also controls EQ motion speed.
EQCC 18One-knob EQ. CCW = remove highs, CW = remove lows, noon = no effect.
DRYCC 19Unprocessed signal loudness with healthy boost capability

Alt / Secondary Knob Functions

ControlMIDI CCDescription
GATE RELCC 24Noise gate re-engage speed
GATE SENSCC 25Noise gate threshold level
SWELL INCC 26Time to reach full volume when Swell is engaged
USER RELCC 27Custom value for middle RELEASE position. Default: 650ms.
BAL FILTERCC 28Filters low frequencies from envelope detection
SWELL OUTCC 29Time to return to silence when Swell is disengaged

Switches

SwitchMIDI CCPositions
RELEASECC 21FAST / USER / SLOW
MODECC 22SHIFTY / MANUAL / MOD
PHYSICSCC 23WOBBLY / OFF / TWITCHY

DIP Switches — CONTROL

ControlMIDI CCDescription
DYNAMICSCC 61Enable ramping/expression control for DYNAMICS knob
ATTACKCC 62Enable ramping/expression control for ATTACK knob
EQCC 63Enable ramping/expression control for EQ knob
DRYCC 64Enable ramping/expression control for DRY knob
WETCC 65Enable ramping/expression control for WET knob
BOUNCECC 66Bounce mode: parameters modulate continuously instead of ramp-and-hold
SWEEPCC 67Sweep direction: Bottom (B, knob=min) or Top (T, knob=max)
POLARITYCC 68Ramp polarity: Forward (F) or Reverse (R)

DIP Switches — CUSTOMIZE

ControlMIDI CCDescription
MISOCC 71Mono In, Stereo Out - splits mono input to stereo output
SPREADCC 72Creates unique stereo image from compression and EQ
LATCHCC 73Changes swell from momentary to latching
SIDECHAINCC 74External sidechain input for triggering compression
NOISE GATECC 75Activates noise gate (threshold set via hidden option)
MOTIONCC 76Enables motion mode for dynamic, evolving effects
SWELL AUXCC 77Auxiliary swell behavior modifications
DUSTYCC 78Cassette-style noise reduction and lo-fi character

Footswitches

  • SWELLbypass on CC 103, hold on CC 105
  • BYPASSbypass on CC 102, hold on CC 106

Special MIDI Functions

  • Expression — CC 100
  • Ramp/Bounce — CC 52. Enables or disables the ramp/bounce modulation. When on, parameters enabled via CONTROL DIP switches will ramp or bounce according to the ramp settings.
  • ALT Menu — CC 104. Enters or exits the ALT menu (same as holding both footswitches on the pedal), giving access to secondary knob parameters.
  • Dynamics Max — CC 106. Activates the Dynamics Max function (same as holding the right footswitch on the pedal), pushing the compressor to maximum dynamics.
  • Ramp Speed — CC 20. Controls how fast the ramp travels between the start and end points set by the enabled CONTROL DIP switches.
  • Envelope Mode — CC 31. Sets the envelope detection algorithm. Analog: classic optical-style, Hybrid: blends analog and digital detection, Adaptive: intelligent detection that adjusts to your playing.
  • Shifty Mode — CC 32. Sets how the SHIFTY EQ mode responds to your playing. ASR Shifty: attack/sustain/release-triggered EQ shift, Env Shifty: envelope-follower-driven EQ shift.
  • Spread Routing — CC 33. Determines which signal paths are spread across the stereo field. EQ: spreads the EQ processing, Both: spreads EQ and compression, Vol/Comp: spreads volume and compression.
  • Factory Reset — CC 56. Resets all settings and presets to factory defaults. This will erase all saved presets.

Hardware Presets

The Clean has 122 hardware preset slots. Nitelite can save your current settings to a slot and recall slots via MIDI program change.
