Chase Bliss Thermae — MIDI Editor & CC Reference

Control the Chase Bliss Thermae from your browser — MIDI control reference, interactive editor, and AI-generated presets. Free, no install.

Explore the Thermae controls in your browser and connect compatible MIDI hardware to send settings to your pedal. The reference below shows the controls mapped in Nitelite; available functions depend on the pedal and firmware. The default MIDI channel in Nitelite is 2. Browser MIDI control works in Chrome, Edge, Opera, or Brave — no install required.

Knobs

ControlMIDI CCDescription
MIXCC 14Clean/delayed signal balance. Controls ramp speed when ramping is engaged.
LPFCC 15Resonant low-pass filter. Clockwise = bright, counter-clockwise = mellow.
REGENCC 16Echo regeneration/feedback. Higher = more smeary, tape-saturated blur. Can self-oscillate.
GLIDECC 17Portamento between sequence steps. Min = immediate shifts, higher = long slides.
INT 1CC 18Interval 1 / Speed. Pitch shift amount for step 1. Noon = bypass step. With MODULATION dip: modulation speed.
INT 2CC 19Interval 2 / Depth. Pitch shift amount for step 2 (relative to step 1). Noon = bypass step. With MODULATION dip: modulation depth.

Alt / Secondary Knob Functions

ControlMIDI CCDescription
HOLDCC 24Simulates hold function: 127 = runaway oscillation, 0 = resume regen position
SLOW/TAPCC 25Sequence mode: slowdown. Step mode: set tap tempo. 127 = engage, 0 = disengage.

Switches

SwitchMIDI CCPositions
NOTE DIVCC 211/4 / 1/8D / 1/8
NOTE DIVCC 221/4 / 1/8D / 1/8
NOTE DIVCC 231/4 / 1/8D / 1/8

DIP Switches — RAMP/EXP

ControlMIDI CCDescription
REGENCC 61Enable ramping/expression control for REGEN knob
INT 1CC 62Enable ramping/expression control for INT 1 (Speed) knob
INT 2CC 63Enable ramping/expression control for INT 2 (Depth) knob
GLIDECC 64Enable ramping/expression control for GLIDE knob
LPFCC 65Enable ramping/expression control for LPF knob
BOUNCECC 66Bounce mode: parameters modulate back and forth instead of ramp-and-hold
SWEEPCC 67Sweep direction. Top: knob = max of range. Bottom: knob = min of range.
POLARITYCC 68Ramp polarity. Forward: normal. Reverse: inverted.

DIP Switches — CUSTOMIZE

ControlMIDI CCDescription
STEPCC 71Step Mode - Pauses internal sequencer, advance manually with left footswitch
MODULATIONCC 72Changes INT 1/2 knobs to Speed/Depth, toggles to waveform shape/randomness controls
MoToBypCC 73Momentary-to-bypass: pedal only active while bypass stomp is held down
TRAILSCC 74Echoes fade out naturally after bypass instead of cutting off. Switches to buffered bypass.
TAP CTRLCC 75R = ramp (tap sets ramp rate), P = parameter (tap sets RPM). Needs Bounce on for continuous modulation.
TAP DIVCC 76Tap division bank selection. Enables alternate note divisions for tap tempo.
UNUSEDCC 77Reserved / unused DIP switch position
UNUSEDCC 78Reserved / unused DIP switch position

Footswitches

  • TAP/STEPCC 93
  • BYPASSCC 102

Special MIDI Functions

  • Tap Tempo — CC 93
  • Expression — CC 100
  • MIDI Clock — CC 51. Controls whether the Thermae listens to incoming MIDI Clock (Beat Clock) messages. On = listen for MIDI Clock, Off = ignore MIDI Clock.
  • Ramp Speed — CC 20. Controls the speed of parameter ramping when ramping is engaged. Lower values = slower ramp, higher values = faster ramp.

Hardware Presets

Thermae has 122 hardware preset slots, recalled using MIDI Program Change. Saving requires an action on the pedal; follow the hardware preset manager instructions.
