Chase Bliss TONAL RECALL — MIDI Editor & CC Reference

Control the Chase Bliss TONAL RECALL from your browser — MIDI control reference, interactive editor, and AI-generated presets. Free, no install.

Explore the TONAL RECALL controls in your browser and connect compatible MIDI hardware to send settings to your pedal. The reference below shows the controls mapped in Nitelite; available functions depend on the pedal and firmware. The default MIDI channel in Nitelite is 2. Browser MIDI control works in Chrome, Edge, Opera, or Brave — no install required.

Knobs

ControlMIDI CCDescription
TONECC 14Low-pass tone filter for repeats. CW = brighter, CCW = very dark. Controls ramp speed when ramping is engaged.
MIXCC 15Wet/dry mix. Fully CW = 100% wet (boosted). ~75% CW = 50/50 mix.
RATECC 16LFO rate for pitch modulation on repeats. CW = fast, CCW = slow.
TIMECC 17Delay time. CW = longer (max 550ms). Overridden by tap tempo.
REGENCC 18Repeats. Can self-oscillate. Long regen devolves into smeary tape-saturated blur.
DEPTHCC 19Intensity of pitch modulation on repeats.

DIP Switches — CUSTOMIZE

ControlMIDI CCDescription
RISE (MX)CC 71Rise direction for MIX ramp/expression
RISE (RT)CC 72Rise direction for RATE ramp/expression
RISE (TM)CC 73Rise direction for TIME ramp/expression
RISE (RG)CC 74Rise direction for REGEN ramp/expression
RISE (DP)CC 75Rise direction for DEPTH ramp/expression
MOTBYPCC 76Momentary-to-bypass: pedal only active when bypass stomp is pressed
TAP CTRLCC 77Tap controls: R = ramp timing, P = delay parameter
TAP DIVCC 78Tap division bank: off = standard, on = alternate (triplet/sextolet). Also selects MIDI note divisions.

Footswitches

  • TAPCC 102
  • BYPASSCC 102

Special MIDI Functions

  • Tap Tempo — CC 93
  • Expression — CC 100
  • MIDI Clock — CC 51. Whether the pedal listens to incoming MIDI Clock (beat clock) messages for tempo sync. When off, the pedal ignores MIDI Clock.
  • Ramp — CC 20. Controls the ramp time — how long it takes the selected parameter(s) to travel from one extreme to the other during a ramp sweep. 0 = fastest, 127 = slowest.

Hardware Presets

TONAL RECALL has 122 hardware preset slots, recalled using MIDI Program Change. Saving requires an action on the pedal; follow the hardware preset manager instructions.
